How to Care for your Bulk Delivery of Real Christmas Trees

Buying British grown Christmas trees will reduce your ‘tree miles’ and help ensure a fresher product with a lower carbon footprint.

Real Christmas tree plantations play an important role in the British landscape, not only at Christmas but all year round and contribute to a mosaic of important habitats which support our wildlife. Real Christmas trees are a fresh product which have been nurtured for up to 10 years before being harvested. Whilst your supplier will take every care to provide you with the best product possible, real Christmas trees are perishable and we would advise following the steps below to ensure you are providing the freshest, quality trees for your customers:

Take guidance on delivery times - To help ensure real Christmas trees remain fresh for the whole season, we recommend buyers talk to their supplier and take their guidance.

Unload your delivery - It is important that you remove your delivery from pallets within 1-2 days of arrival to avoid your trees potentially overheating and losing their natural shape.

Store your trees correctly - Each real Christmas tree should be stored in an upright position, in a cool, sheltered area, preferably out of the wind.

Keep your trees hydrated - Providing your trees with water can help keep them fresh, improving needle retention. Either place the trunks in water or spraying the trees once a week.

We recommend you speak with your supplier for full guidance and more information.
